For Mini 7/7s/8 owners: Do remember to take out your Batteries, if not intending to use for more than 2 weeks.
For Mini 25/50s: These cameras use CR2 batteries, and they do not need to be remove.

Batteries leakage occurs if they experience excessive voltage, high temperature or is a defective battery cell.
So it is best to store your batteries at room temperature or as suggested on the packaging of the batteries.

Battery leak can cause damage to your electronics. You can determine if your battery is leaking if it is wet. The substance leaked is not water, it is oily and smells like rust. When the liquid dries up,  it will leave a visible powdery residual. 

If the leakage is not excesive(only around the battery place), you can clean the powdery surface with a little vinegar or lemon juice. DO NOT use water! 

 
Tips for ensuring a long lasting life your Instax camera (or other electronics)  :)

1. Never store or expose your electronics to high temperatures.
Example: keeping camera in your car while you often park it outside under the sun.

2. When you do not intend to use your camera for a long period of time,
it is better to take out the batteries instead of keeping them inside the camera.
